For the exhibition «Lupara», Pierre Marie drew inspiration from the Louvre of Louis XIV, where the lavish designs of Le Vau and Le Brun were meant to keep the king in Paris.
The flat-weave rug woven by the Manufacture Robert Four evokes Le Brun’s decors of the Galerie d’Apollon. The furniture pieces give a new take on the 17th century’s Grand Siècle with a touch of the decorative style of the 1940s: three wrought-iron candelabras painted with a bronze finish, a mirror with reverse painted motifs reflecting those of the rug, two armchairs a low table covered with the exhibition’s signature «Leopara» jacquard, two blown glass pieces, and a stained-glass window featuring Apollo-like suns.
